Message dude, you're like santa claus. thanks for the good news.

:Same stuff they sell for doing furniture. I did mine and it came out excellent. Here's what I did:
:1. Peel off all the existing finish down to the bare carbon. Trim around the SMZ logo with a razor blade if you want to keep it intact. Ask me how I know :(
:2. Rig up a jig to hold the knob vertical while it drys. I can't remember what I used. Don't wait until it's dripping to figure out what your going to use!
:3. Dip the knob directly into the can of urethane, then set it in your jig. Think "chocolate dipped ice cream cone."
:The urethane drys to a smooth and flexible coating. I did mine two years ago and it still looks great.
